We decided to create an animatic by taking pictures of what each individual shot would look like in accordance to our storyboard and then editing it together with our chosen music track to give us an idea of how our opening sequence would fit together. We found both the process of shooting it and the editing of it extremely useful. The shooting allowed us to work out the exact framing we wanted on each of our shots and the editing allowed us to workout the timings of our shots and how they would fit together.

R+P Post 12: Our animatic

R+P Post 11: Our Timeline and Storyboard

| A section of our timeline |
We decided to create a timeline of our opening sequence to plan out timings for our project and to figure out how everything would fit together. We broke up our 2 minute timeline into 10 second intervals to figure out how much time we could allocate for each shot. The timeline was really useful for gathering all our ideas and figuring out how they would actually work for our project.
Storyboard
After making our timeline we decided to make a storyboard so that we could start to plan more visually and creatively. We made our storyboard on A3 paper and used post- it notes for each individual shot. We also colour coded our post it notes in terms of shot type. We found this was a really good way of doing our storyboard because the post it notes enabled us to move around our shots easily and ensure that we were using a variety of shot types.
